UNIFORMS AND HANDBOOKS

Each Scout must have a uniform shirt with the appropriate insignia.  When a Scout has earned six or more merit badges, they are to be sewn on a merit badge sash that should be worn for “formal” occasions such as Courts of Honor.

Scouts are expected to wear their uniform shirts for all Troop meetings and activities unless previously notified that an event is “nonuniform.”  Uniform items such as a web belt, official slacks or shorts, and hat are considered optional by our Troop, but we do not mean to discourage their use.

Every Scout must also have a copy of the Boy Scout Handbook that provides a wealth of information about all Scout activities, including all of the requirements for rank advancement.  Each Scout should track his own rank advancement progress, even though the Scoutmaster or one of his Assistants will also maintain such records.
